Well done Mel, I watched your race on t'internet live at work, what a great achievement and you are so lucky to be part of such a great bunch of people. The GB rowing team are so lovely
All I can find is this, with Melanie's race starting at 29:00, http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01lhh76/Olympics_London_2012_BBC_One_Day_5_11.3013.00/ Although they came 6th, remember this was Final A, there were slower teams in Final B so overall they came 6th out of 8 - a fantastic result
Fantastic. How anyone can row a boat at that speed at all, never mind doing it continuously for 7 minutes, is beyond me. They're all superhuman.
You do not have to be resident in the UK to be BRITISH and compete as British so it is not the UK Population, but the number of elegible BRITISH PEOPLE in the WORLD Hmmph :-) Jack McH
I realised that's probably what you meant shortly after I posted, but then I thought all that does is makes it even more exceptional to be in team GB as the percentage I quoted would be even smaller.
Or to put it another way ONE of Ten Thousand, from a possible 7.3 Billion people She did good Jack McH
