    Hi,
Never grown vegatables before, decided to have a go with very mixed succes.
Caulis look OK, Sprouts doing well, Lettuce bolted but my raddishs are three foot tall and in flower, the raddishs are small or non existant and when I do get the odd one it`s small and woody.
They are in direct sunlight (when there is any) and facing south.
I realise I have plenty to learn, must have made a basic error here.
    Thanks Rodz

    Welcome to Gardeners Corner Rodz.:sign0016:

Yep, you have to keep your eye on Radishes, they bulb up very quickly, but with the weather we've been having, they might have not bothered & just gone straight to seed.

Now you can stake the plants, as they'll carry on growing & fall over, when the flowers have gone, they'll make loads of green seed pods that will be Radish flavour. Pick them while they are still green, they are nice & crunchy. I use them in salads & stir fries.

Ah well, that`s something learnt. I will do what you say with the seeds might as well have something out of the job.
I knew I would have failures this year due to my lack of expertise.
      Thanks
      Rodz

Thats not a failure Rodz, it happens so often with a lot of things when the weather is pants. Many years back I grew Black Spanish Raddishes, a Victorian variety with foot long roots about 2 inches wide. Couldn't stand the flavour but I let them go to seed & loved the seed pods in curries etc. They all come at once so need picking off & freezing so you can lob them in dishes over the winter.

They did germinate very quickly so I will put some more in.
      Thanks

This is Snoop my assistant, he does have a bad habit of nicking everything I put down.
I have to be a secret gardener when he`s with me and put any gardening tool on top of the pergola and use them one at a time.

Can you always eat the pods of radishes, regardless of variety I mean?
