(Title worded with JWK in mind :heehee: )

Self explanatory, really :what: I would like to glue glass to wood and hope someone can advise (it needs to be weather proof, if that makes any difference?)

    TIA :)

If you use silicone designed to be used to make aquariums, as it is designed to stick glass to glass you won't go far wrong, costs around £5-6 a tube, you can use other silicones, but they can lose adhesion after some time. That said, if the timber gets soaked, even the aquarium silicone will let go.

Hmm, the timber may get rained on, but probably not "soaked"?

I'd suggest using this all weather polymer sealant - I used it to repair guttering earlier in the year, and then went on to use it to glue all sorts, including to glue the bottom back onto a stoneware pot, which has held perfectly.

We usually use low modulus neutral cure silicon when glazing wooden windows, it has greater stretch than the high modulus, so allows the timber to move with moisture changes.
The timber needs to be at the very least primed first though.

Thank you, pete :) Actually the glass/timber isn't to do with glazing wooden windows  it's more to do with a craft/decorative project I had in mind ;)

                Good point, well presented.

Ok, basically, the knot holes in fencing, I'd like to "fill" with some glass marbles to a) block them up and b) let the light shine through. Then, once that is done, I want to create some random holes in the picket fence gate to do the same thing with.

Ok, I know you're going to laugh at "Mum's Madness" now :heehee:

I still stick with my original suggestion for that - completely clear once hardened, and goes off fairly quickly.
