Me too Gemini. They all suffer from an extreme dose of over used superlatives and it makes me feel sick,

Is Children in Need meant to be a comedy? I just saw loads of super rich celebrities telling me about some kids that have to share the same bed because they can't afford one each, and their sister sleeps on a broken settee. Well girls aloud, hows about YOU buy them some new furniture if you're genuinely bothered? You could use some of your fee for doing the show to pay for it all.

Never mind Children in need, What about Pensioners in need

First child under 18 gets £20pw Child Benefit and £60pw Child tax credit = £80pw
secn child under 18 gets £13pw Child Benefit and £50pw Child tax credit = £63

Now these Children in need, do not have to pay rent, heating , clothing , food

So maybe the parents should be taken to court for stealing the childs money. it
must be going somewhere, As would any further money raised to give them

How can a child be in need Unless the parent is abusing it ?

If the parents are dead or too ill to be any practical use to the kids. The sad truth is there are a lot of kids who lose their childhood because they have to care for their parents. Its sad, and those kids need help, but BBC's Children in Need campaign is, in my opinion, about the worst possible way to highlight this fact. Apparently this year they raised somewhere near £30 million. That's great, but I wonder how many £Millions were paid to the various celebrities that did the glamorous glitzy show.

To be fair, its only the 'main event' that gets under my skin. Last year Chris Moyles of Radio 1 and a load of other BBC folks walked up Kilimanjaro to raise money, and this year Chris Evans of Radio 2 did some rich folks auction. Much less 'in your face' and patronising.

I do not know enough about the "celebrities" to comment, I understood they chuked it in for free, but I hope they do not take expences

Children who's parents are dead are obviously fostered or adopted, both big earners for the new parents, who are well vetted anyway

The FEW who might need are those whose parents, steal the money and spend it on drink tobacco and drugs, in which case they should be jailed for theft and the kids taken off them
NO CHILD IS IN POVERTY TODAY IN THE UK unless their guardians are abusing them

On the news regarding stopage of child benefit for earners over £99k. I found this funny,
"We earn £120k a year and the loss of £20pw is devastating, We do not know how people on £100k a year can manage" :-)

            Try £9k dear
