Not far off. About that but a little bit more. I'm still young enough to be referred to as young, but it happens less and less often nowadays:)

Alright, 36 ... but still nice to read about what you think about life.

I notice Fat Controller that you also have similar stresses in life, one being not being able to buy your own home, but you work to make a good life for yourself and your family and I admire you for that!

We have what we have through hard work, nothing given to us, forfeit of holidays, no weekly outings to the pubs/clubs ... but we are enjoying the fruits of our labours now! It was worth it I can assure you!

100% credit to you guys ... :dbgrtmb:

I'll buy that:) My birth certificate would suggest otherwise but I think 36 is a better offer:)

Thank you Victoria :ccheers: - I am 36, so a whippersnapper compared to clueless , and I know that my position/struggles are not unique by any stretch; maybe its something to do with my 'era' if you know what I mean.

I'm a great believer that you only get what you are willing to work for, and if something (good or bad) is meant to be, it will be - or as the old Scot's saying goes, "Whits fur ye wullnae go by ye"

Must take my Hi Fi speakers back to the manufacturers sometime for a once over. B & W DM2As 1970. The last time I took them back to Brighton, they fixed 'em for free. I hope they don't keep them this time and put them in a museum! :lunapic 130165696578242 5: The foam behind the grilles has disintegrated completely! :ouch1:

I have an Armstrong 626 as well. I think the capacitor? is playing up. (it crackles) but then I don't have a clue about electronics.

I have a Sony TC160 Cassette Deck as well. It played up a year ago (that means it wouldn't play :lunapic 130165696578242 5: ) so I put in a new elastic band. It runs a treat now. Elastic band technology is brill! Can't beat it.

Oh, I have a Marantz Record Deck. That's not working at the moment: must have a delve into it some time.

And have a Pye Record Deck from 1954 that plays 78s. Unfortunately someone borrowed my 78s (all 2 of them) and I can't find him to get them back. Grrrr!

Lets make a game of it then. Here's some clues.

I was born in Yorkshire, but left Yorkshire without moving at the age of 4. In the year of my birth, sadly, Carl Douglas was lying. I remember when you could buy a sweet for half a pence, but not a ha'penny. I went to school before Maggy Thatcher Milk Snatcher earned that nickname. I vividly remember the government lie proclaiming that 'This is the age of the train'.

Sorry, the bf has just spent the last 4 mins proving the extreme erroneousness of that conclusion. He thinks you're 42. I just don't know any more!!
