I was so pleased because I finally picked up the courage to use this stapler gun but then a staple must have ended somehow in the wrong position and the handle feels now very stiff and it doesn't staple anymore (although the loud noise is still there). Any suggestion where to intervene and what tool to use?

Are we talking the big, big ones? Or, the office little ones?

Have you checked if it still has actually got staples in it - it will make a loud noise even if it has run out. You may find some staples have clagged up at the exit point - I just pick them out with the point of a scissors or something like that.

I find them very temperamental things that go wrong very easily for such an apparently simple piece of kit. I find that hurling them across the room with loud curses provides temporary relief from the problem.

Mine runs out of ammo staples really quickly, so sometimes I think its jammed when its just ran out of bullets staples.

As an aside, you've just reminded me of something immensely foolish I once saw. It was quite a lot of years ago now and I worked in small fishing village (names withheld to protect the innocent:) ). A certain high profile replica ship was going to, erm, Endeavour, to stop just outside the harbour and fire a salute. It had been organised in the village that a cannon from the local museum would be brought out to fire a reply. It was all very well organised, and everything went like clockwork. Well not quite everything. The ship fired its cannons (blank rounds of course), and the chaps handling the cannon on the harbour went to reply, but it failed to fire. What happened next had me cringing, and ready to phone 999 at a moments notice. I know there was no ammo in it, but even with just the charge in it and no projectile, you still don't stick your face in the end of it and start poking it with a stick to see what's gone wrong.

Fortunately it still didn't go off. I reckon if it had done then it wouldn't have been the only thing to go off. The chaps face would probably have gone off too.

That also crossed my mind/I don't dare to think one of those heavy duty gun staples ending up in an eye...
