Found this interesting little article on the BBC Weather site this morning, whatever you believe about weather forecasters, its an interesting (depressing if you don't like cold/snowy weather) read......in short we're in for the long haul with no end in sight :)

Why is the BBC afraid to use the words "Blocking High" ?

The BBC weather reports are so pessimistic , they have lost all credibility with me . I have not used them for about 4 years now . In fact did some seaside town try to sue them last year for their gloomy despondent reports ?
Try Scorchio-Weather.com for up to date happy reports :snork:

          Interesting!

Mr Mum swears by XCweather and, according to that, I won't get snow until Sunday. The BBC tells me I'll have it today at teatime. Be interesting to see which is right :heehee:

I've got 65 bulbs of spring planting garlic that need planting and the ground's frozen, so might have to resort to a crow-bar and sledge hammer (just like getting leeks in clay soil in a summer drought) if this carries on and on.

Getting even colder according to the weather badgers

Looks like I'd be constantly having to sweep snow off it (wonders what happens when solar panels get covered in snow ...) I could take a propane cylinder + a burner ring and heat some water up to chuck on my frozen garlic bed, or my generator and have a go at making some holes using an SDS chisel bit, or even light a fire on top of it.

The local schools have now closed for the afternoon.
