Cardoon roots

    Mainly for Zigster as he sent me the seed but - does the cardoon have a deep tap root? Just wondering the best way to start them off now its getting to sowing time :)

    I think I started mine off in pots, not sure about the tap root, but they do grow back from the roots each spring.

    I started mine off from seed last year, pricked out into 9cm pots and planted out mid May, They grow quite quickly, so I would not be tempted to use a small module or similar.
