Flowering shrub for a tub

    I have 4 tubs which are a foot cube. I am putting small acers in 2 of them and a small lavatera in another one, I would like to put a lace cap hydrangea in one but not sure if tub us too small, if it is any ideas please for the 4th tub.

    Ko Jo no mai cherry would be ideal I bought mine from B&Q 50 pence it just needed a good water kept in the corner on shelving all going cheap , and now lives on my patio table in a terracotta round bowl , and has just finished flowering it heart out.
    Looks like a bonsai compared to the half standard I grow in the border
