Can you revive eucalyptus branches?

Hello - Sorry if this is in the wrong place! I'm just looking for a bit of advice, I ordered some eucalyptus branches for my animals and they have arrived looking a little dry, I was wondering if there is anyway to revive them at all? to make them look nice and fully green. The branch its self is still green underneath the bark and flexible, just the leaves have gone dry around the edges.

Never tried it, my thoughts would be that it wouldn't work, but who knows.

My answer will not be definitive, because my experience is limited. All I know is this: when I moved here (3 yrs ago) I had a couple of large pots by the decking. One had a dead as a Dodo stump in it. Then it rained. The dead stump grew a teeny tiny green thingy. So, I then watered it.

I now have a 6' eucalyptus growing healthy and strong!

Either pop them in a bucket of water (or, if you want to grow them) pop them in some compost and water well. No reason why you shouldn't try to grow some of those stems so you can coppice them for future feed for your animals

No I'm not keeping a Koala, lol! I'm currently caring for a parrot who enjoys stripping the leaves off the branches.

I don't have a garden, other wise I would love to grow my own. I'm hoping I can try to revive the branches a little, I've cut the end of the branch and then they was put straight into a bucket of water hopefully they'll look a little better tomorrow!

All I can say (living in the land of Eucalyptus) is that they DO NOT DIE. Even our severest forest fires which destroyed half of Algarve a couple of years ago do not kill them off ... they and the Arbutus unedo (Strawberry Tree) are the two trees that cannot be killed off by drought or fire. As for just a branch? ... I can't answer that ...

 

Lushie there are many safe tree's/shrubs you could give your parrot that i'd imagine would be far easier for you to get your hands on than Eucalyptus, i give my birds Willow, Forsythia, Whitebeam Mountain Ash, Dogwood, Apple, Buddleia, Hazel, Ribes even Roses are perfectly safe & all these are common....you could always check out friends & neighbours gardens to see if they've anything suitable & ask if you could have a branch or two, no harm asking...if you where near me i'd sort ya
