    I've just come across an oak sapling in the garden (could be more around). If anyone wants it I can try and dig it up carefully and bring it on Sunday. Can never tell with oaks as their taproots can go down a long way.

    @Kristen Mrs Shiney has got your Irishman's cutting for you. I hope it survives - they usually do - should know by Sunday.:)

    I think she may also be bringing a couple of trays of other plants in case anyone wants them. If not, not worries, they can be put back in the nursery for our next plant sale. :blue thumb:

    I have loads of Common Oak in 1L pots, if anyone wants them. They were a mis-delivered order which they told me to hang on to - I haven't got a use for them (probably 50 of them available if anyone has a use for them)

    went to will giles garden yesterday. What an experience! No idea there is a Tropical paradise right next to Carrow Rd :)

        An excellent day and there were 12 of us that met up, swapped lots of plants and had a good time. :hapydancsmil:

        The journey home was very good and arrived home about 7.45 :).

        I've had a nice cuppa and have ordered a take-away, yum yum! :blue thumb:

          Some comedy on the swapping of plants, particularly JWK having to shoehorn some largish plants into his car and some surprise at me putting bucketfuls of Shiney's hedge clippings into my car; I'm sure I heard someone say "I put my hedge clippings on the compost heap?!!"

          Had a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Thanks to all for their good company. Bit disappointing the moment when we all photographed a plant that we couldn't ID because (each individually??) "Wouldn't it be a good idea to upload a picture to a gardening forum for identification" :heehee: If there is a rash of new registrations wanting plant ID's ... you'll know why!

            Hehehe yes the plants being manoerved into JWKs car was funny - it was my OH who said he puts the clippings on the compost heap! Yes, a great time, glad you all got back safely.

                    Thanks for the great pics of the garden and plants, Kristen. It gave me a real feel for the place. I couldn't make the trip this year due to having to prepare for starting back to work again at Birmingham:cry3:.                         Forgot to mention (and forgot to photograph) I saw two relatively small / dwarf Persicaria. One had distinctive markings like Red Dragon (except that it was a green leaf). If anyone had some cuttings available that would be fab. happy to swap for something - perhaps Persicaria virginiana var filiformis?

                            Love the pictures of the lighthouse, because, when my friend who lives in Stalham, first moved to Norfolk she lived in Happisburgh the lighthouse was at the bottom practically of her garden, and the first time I visited circa 92/93, Anneka Rice turned up with her team and they painted it ,(forget the programme name), the Queen Mother was re-opening it or something honorable.
