Spruce, hope you saw the final programme and the vital need for loadsa bees to pollinate the fruit trees.
Why are we importing these specially bred bees from Eastern Europe? Do you fancy starting a UK bee breeding set up?

That's a good point. Does that mean we can get pheasant and rabbit flavoured cornflakes for breakfast?

Just seen, recording of, first episode. Might go back to growing our own maincrop spuds after seeing the bit about "just burning the tops off" the plants to make harvesting easier.

I'm presumably that's a desiccant, probably some weedkiller or other? I think it used to be Gramoxone or something based on Paraquat (banned in EU since 2007 I think, still used in USA and rest of world I guess)

                  That's good to hear, thanks.

I wonder about imported spuds? Mind you, we normally buy main crop in large bags from the "farm gate", so I doubt imported.

You never know, one farmer i know would buy in container load of spuds then sell them, at the time it was cheaper to buy and import them

Quite. Spruce there is some technology that is just so worth getting. I work in technology and hate most of it, this is one exception, Sonos being another - it just works (cue Ronseal moment!).
