Just got back from the landlord's house.

He was shocked we knew his address, if I'm totally honest.

Told him about what's been going on, how long for and the extent of it all and what it's doing to us mentally (where my parents want to sell up)

He said it's unacceptable and they have a 6 month agreement (meaning they renewed this in August) for two male tenants, but a third female woman who makes the most noise lives there all the time, causing 80% of the nuisance, probably.

He's told us he'll visit them today about it, and if he's a decent human being, taking away the fact he's a landlord, he should knock on ours and let us know what's been said by them, etc.

Good progress at last Kyle, here's hoping that the landlord can sort them out.

I've been reading this but havent posted....is there some way to record the noise and partying, and present that to the police as well as the landlord....kinda hard to dispute whats on the tape, if they are hearing it.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Have you spoken to the other neighbours? Quite probably it is doing their heads in too, but they don't want to be the one to make a fuss. Funny thing human nature, its too easy to believe your alone in your feelings. If you talk to your neighbours, you may well discover that they also want something done about but daren't be the ones to complain, whereas once they know that someone else already has, then maybe they'll feel empowered to speak up to. The council can (and largely will) ignore one person, but they can't ignore several households.

Contracts can still be broken if they are indeed breaking the law. If the contract was drawn up properly then there should be a clause about noise and disruption to surrounding neighbours, which they have broken. A 6 month contract is easier to end than a long term one, I think I read that somewhere. Most tenants don't take out a 6 month contract and usually take out at least a years contract so they won't probably be around for much longer anyway.

I personally would rather throw them out than run the risk of having the council on my back and being fined when the pols scarper.

I should have stated also that I am a landlord (reluctant) and had a look in the tennacy agreement that was made between ourselves and the tennant before they moved in.

"(8) Not to do or suffer to be done in or upon the property any act or thing which may be a nuisance, damage or annoyance to the landlord of the tenants or occupiers of any of the adjoining premises."

I image the landlord of your neighbouring property has a similar clause

Loud music again. I banged on the wall, they banged back.

They're so close to being dragged out of their house by their noses.

I've looked at the equipment, and even to hire it costs a fair bit :( and I doubt they'd take any other recording as evidence.

I now don't trust the landlord and his word.

About to message the councillors and I'm going to ask them 'what are you going to do about it??'

                      Landlord ignoring my calls.

                      Told him I won't stop til they're evicted, that's a promise.

Going to email the councillors everyday and ring him the day after the noise.

Been reading this thread for a while now Kyle.
You must have the patience of a angel!
By now (I don't advocate violence ) they would have been would have them hung, drawn and :paladin: ) but sometimes it's the only way some people listen!
                        You have my sympathies
