You are quite correct that the adjective for the noun extrovert or extravert can be spelt extroverted as suggested by some of you, but according to both the Collins English Dictionary and the Oxford English Dictionary it can also be spelt extraverted as is spelt in the survey. Therefore, both these spellings are correct.

I can see why there may be some confusion as in the dictionary there is only one noun for introvert (unlike extrovert where there is also extravert), therefore the adjective in this case can only be spelt introverted. But in the case of extrovert or extravert the adjective used can be either extroverted or extraverted.

 

@a0m0 .....it also says the following in the Oxford online dictionary, "The original spelling extravert is now rare in general use but is found in technical use in psychology."
