I have been told the memory foam are very firm, I only have feather, it`s such a personal preference. I only sleep on one pillow, and only on the edge of it. :snooze:

Memory foam are OK, but they have a tendency to hold onto the heat and make you overheat in the summer; some of them (the genuine Tempur for example) are actually quite soft so not to everyone's taste, and they are hellishly expensive.

I'd suggest looking at pillows that have a latex core - Dunlopillow Celestial used to be a pretty good one, but I am not sure if its in production any more or not.

We just bought some new pillows this morning . They come in soft and firm grades. These were hollowfibre which is 50% cotton 50% polyester filling . We bought a pair of soft and a pair of firm , so we can have one of each on each side of the bed.

Woo, I have a tempur pillow. It's quite firm but molds, to a certain extent, to the head. You should be able to go into a bed store and check the pillows. They'll still be in their plastic, although some stores actually have a few that are unpacked for trying out (they change the pillow case regularly), but will give you an idea of what they're like.

If you're talking about pillows to give her upper body support and not so much just head support, then you may prefer to look at something like this. It's quite firm and works well with any type of pillow or bolster. It saves your upper body from falling sideways when you sleep almost upright.

If you want more details about it I can find out for you.

I have a memory foam pillow, yes they are firm but still comfortable. As FC says they do tend to hold the heat though, they don't 'breath' like a normal pillow. They are expensive to buy, I was lucky and got mine free with a new bed. :)

I always have feather ones and also have two big square fat continental feather pillows that I use to sit up and read in bed. Feather ones are fairly soft unless they are well -stuffed which they won't be unless you pay quite a bit. I love their feathery squishiness and breathable nature. I have a feather mattress topper as well. And two down and feather duvets.

Oh yes, and feather upholstery on my sofas, too.

Ducks are not safe in my neck of the woods.
