Usually, when I'm discussing things with a supervisor I get the thumbs up from the staff from behind the supervisor's back. At least, I think it's the thumbs up!! :hate-shocked: :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Is it just me but did anyone watch Countryfile and Adams farm last Sunday I (recorded it).

I thought the part where they took the twin day old lambs off the mother to cart down to the local school and have the two year old boy nearly drop it on the floor (luckily caught by Adam) for a nativity play was not very pleasant to watch and thought it very cruel, as the poor lambs bleated wanting mum back let alone what the poor ewe thought stuck in a make shift coral in a field.

Didn't see it Spruce, but I have seen similar practices over the years and have always thought they were cruel at best. Lambs are actually really intelligent wee things (shame they grow into sheep that are positively thick) so I have no doubt that they will be wondering what on earth is happening to them.

Is Adam the bloke who is always waffling on about rare breeds, and appears to own most of the Cotswolds?
If it is, he comes over as a bit of an exhibitionist, and would do anything to look good.

                  Fussy eaters! :gaah:

It irritates me no end when I see people picking and poking at their food, then throwing half of it away.

These very same people can often be heard saying "We spend sooo much on food, I just don't know where the money goes."

It's even worse at this time of year, negotiating the minefield of who will eat what.
If someone has gone to all the time and trouble of cooking me a lovely Christmas dinner, I would consider it quite rude to leave half of it, even if if some of it may not be what I would normally choose to eat.

My plate will be cleared and I will express my gratitude to the cook. There are people in this world who do not have that choice.

                  Rant over.

So, to keep my hands busy while I gave up smoking, I've taken up knitting.

Made myself a scarf (fringed!), matching wrist warmers and ear warmers. Feeling encouraged, I made one son a scarf (not fringed) for his Christmas stocking and the other a beanie hat.

Son like beanie hat so much, he asked me to make him another one before he goes back to Uni (compliment indeed!). Only *this* time, instead of making it with a pair of needles and stitching up a seam, I thought I'd progress onto .... circular needles.

:gaah: WHO invented such stooped, cack handed, frustrating, wretched articles!!!!???? (They want shooting! ) :gaah:

:frown::frown: Sadly, such an incident occurred here near Evora on Boxing Day where a family of four were travelling in the country and hit a horse wandering on the road and were then run into by the car following. The mother, father and 5-year old daughter were killed as was the driver of the second car and the 14-year old is in hospital. The owner of the horse (whom I assumed died) has not been located and I imagine the owner will not come forward as they could be prosecuted for the accident and deaths.
