    I don't really 'do' sport - never been interested in football, rugby, cricket etc, and only had a passing interest in F1 and BTCC a while back. Anyway, yesterday, I got to watching the snooker on BBC 1, and really enjoyed it - especially the afternoon match between Shaun Murphy and Mark Selby;

    Now, I fully intend to watch the final this afternoon, but is it bad that I really want to see Mark Selby thrash the backside off Ronnie O'Sullivan? Don't get me wrong, Ronnie O'Sullivan is a cracking snooker player, but he doesn't come across as a very nice person. How many times has he taken the huff or even 'retired' immediately after winning, only to come back a few months later?

    Mark on the other hand, seems like a genuinely nice bloke.

    Anyone with me, and going to be ooooohhhing and aaaaaahhhhing at the telly later?

    I'm the same never really cared for sports but there is something slightly relaxing about watching a good snooker match when the house is empty and I don't know why but the sound the balls make when hit with the cue is really satisfying to me then watching them inevitably roll into the pockets. Ronnie O'Sullivan should be banned from playing because he's just too good lol He does look a bit moody and stern but I had a quick look on Wikipedia and it says he suffers from depression so could just be that he's probably a nice bloke deep down, I suspect he self flagellates when he gets home if he doesn't get a perfect score every single time such is the nature of the perfectionist.

        Never!!! I don't know why it is but I go into immediate mental shutdown when Sport is mentioned:dunno::hate-shocked::heehee: It might be the effect of School where you were forced into some sport or other, usually without being asked what sport you might like!!! But I really get a mental block when I see thousands of "Fans" at football matches screaming, waving, jumping up and down, crying when their team loses/wins or puffing out their chests and looking superior when their team wins.............it isn't as though they themselves were on the ground playing with skill and scoring goals but they act like it:scratch: Maybe we need something to divert up from the stresses of Life but the chanting, looking down at other teams or even hating them, wearing of the Kit [even if they've got a Beer Belly and would be out of breath after the first kick of a ball] just smacks of Tribalism.:snork:

        I'm with you on just about every other sport - not my thing at all.
        However, there is something about a good snooker match that I enjoy - don't get me wrong, its only the really well matched ones and doesn't apply to allb

          Spurs? Are they not a component of cowboy boots? :snork:

          I ain't worried about street cred - I go clothes shopping and ask to be directed to the dull and dowdy department

            North London's finest I'll have you know. Suppose next you'll be confessing to Darts watching as well ;)

            As for fashion, I'm with you there, M&S is as daring as I get these days but mostly because it's the only place where you can buy trousers that don't cut your goolies to bits if you wear the waistband actually on your waist.

              Is it me or does Ronnie O'Sullivan look like Mr Bean?
