I hope there is someone out here that can help. I have just been given a phone on o2 network by my daughter (her old one) she was on a contract so I got my self a pay as you go sim All ok so far but I read on there tarriff list it £10 per month !! do I have to top up monthly even if I havent used my £10. At present I am with Orange and my topup lasts till the cash runs out if this is not the case with o2 I will keep my antique Nokia with orange .
I tried to speak with o2 online chat and dident get any sense at all

Hi, I switched to O2 pay as you go a while ago. I only top up every few months as I rarely use it for calls here in France, mostly texts to family and a lot of those don't cost me as it's an iphone and messages between iphone users are free. So, no - you don't need to top up by £10 each month. Any free texts or web use you get when you top up only lasts for the month but any unused balance carries on until it's used up.

With 02 i think you will have to top up once a year and make a few calls, they are good at the t&c's and will cut you off if you don't use the phone

We went over to ASDA pay as you go, when they started up, couple of years ago think it was when they were voted top by Which. Have never looked back. I have just treated myself to a Smart phone a Motorola G now owned by Google it is taking me a bit of time to get my head around it but it is super I can pick up my emails on it and do all sorts. My 1st mobile was handed down to me by granddaughter on contract what a rip off. I have learned...:blue thumb:
