Thanks [IMG] was looking forward to poppy, cornflower and poached egg plants this Summer. I'll have to nip into Wilkinsons and start again (if it's not too late). They have all their seeds on display at the moment. The wind here is awful - up to 90 mph - and living on a hill doesn't much help! Every cloud has a silver lining - the wood burner is 'drawing' well.

@clanless - I have some poppy seeds (Californian I think) that are still sealed in their packet and I am not going to use them; you are more than welcome to them if you want? PM me your address and I'll stick 'em in the post.

Well, my latest issue of Amateur Gardening has free seeds of the Red Poppy being used to acknowledge World War One and this week it's only costing 50p for the magazine......which is a shame as I've paid for the subscription and get it in the post every week so I won't see the benefit of the 50p!!

Thanks very much everyone  - you're all very kind - especially as I'm a new forum member who hasn't contributed much at all. I don't want to impose on anyone, so I'll have a look on the e-bay site recommended by joolz68. I do appreciate the offers though :dbgrtmb: .

Weather has calmed down a bit here in North Wales - still gusty though. The wind last night dislodged a roof tile - so we didn't get away with it entirely.

Oh dear, you're mistaken. We all had a good chuckle your seedlings went for a burton like our have all done in the past! There, you've contributed AND had the illusion of us all being nice removed;)

Likewise - as I say, I am highly unlikely to use the ones I have, so you would be more than welcome to them.

I have this compulsive disorder, you see - I twitch badly when I walk near seed packets in shops, and sometimes they follow me to the till...... :heehee:

@Lolimac - all the time! Its so bad, we were in Sainsburys last Friday and I was mooching around the seed stand - buy four for the price of three; I wasn't overly sure that I needed four, but I was looking anyway. Mrs C summed it up nicely, when she commented that we must definitely have too many seeds if I was struggling to find four packets to buy!

I still managed to get four though......

Just one of those small irritations which make life interesting...

My car battery gave up a couple of days ago. So, new battery fitted and off we go.

Radio/CD player needs re-setting. No problem, look in owner's manual, find code, put code in......'Incorrect Code'.

The code written in the owner's manual was not the right code. So, pop in to the local dealership (from where I originally bought the car) on the way home from work today, and ask them to contact the manufacturers for the correct radio code.

"Certainly sir, there will be a charge of £25 for that".

Erm, I don't think so. I purchased this car from you. You supplied me with an owner's manual which contains an unlock code which is incorrect.

"Ok, I'll just go and have a word with the salesman who dealt with your purchase".

                        Please do.

"It's ok sir, I've spoken to the salesman and he's authorised us to do it free of charge".

My, how very generous of him. Thank you kindly.

Fair enough, it was all sorted out in the end, but I do find it rather annoying that they would try it on like that in the first place.
