Tigre is a town just north of Buenos Aires and it sits on the Parana Delta at an elevation of 2 metres :heehee:

At Tigre there are lots of canals and waterways forming small islands in the delta and the town is on an island. In recent years this area, along the waterways, has become a fairly posh weekend retreat. A lot of the places are second homes but there are some people that live there permanently.

There's lots of 'messing around on the river' in motorboats, launches, rowing boats and canoes.

It appears that it's the women that do all the work :snork:

It's reminiscent of being on the Norfolk Broads :)

There are a lot of rowing clubs (just like home)

      And riverside refuelling stations

The pics and your narrative are both stunning Shiney, thank you :wow:

You certainly made sure you explored every nook and cranny! Absolutely fascinating by the look of it.

I do so love hearing stories of how poorer people who are not happy with their lot get off their backsides and do something about it.

joolz, the hot towel steamer is still in use and it stands by the working chairs in the barber shop. They use it whenever they are doing a shave. :dbgrtmb:
