Don't you just hate waiting for deliveries?

I am off work this week due to the wee one being off for half-term, and a few things worked into our favour; our freezer hadn't been defrosted in ages (at least two years ) so I set myself a target to have it defrosted and cleaned, and ordered a large delivery from our butcher (all comes frozen) to replenish. So that is delivery 1.

Then, it was time to organise new mobile contracts, so that was done on Saturday - due to the bank holiday, dispatch wasn't until yesterday, due for delivery today - delivery 2.

And finally, I ordered a load of wood etc the other night (see the metal shed thread, which is due to be delivered today - delivery 3.

Now, I daren't go into the back garden in case I don't hear the door, so I have set about the house, and currently seem to be sorting one mess and clearing another! I am just having a mid-clean brew :coffee: - first I started with the freezer, which was still full of ice despite being off and left wide open for two days; acutely aware that I needed it to be back on and back to -18ยบ by this afternoon, I set about getting the ice off. First, I sprinkled a packet of salt all over it to speed the thaw up, then I got the Vax out and used the handheld wand thing which has a sprayer on it to spray hot water at the ice to melt it; this was working, but taking ages, so I dug the steamer out. I then blasted the ice with the steam, which worked a treat, and use the hose off the Vax to suck up the water. A quick spray over with kitchen cleaner, a good wiping out, and then the Vax was pressed back into service to provide spray of clean warm water to rinse and then suck out all the rinsing water.

    Now, looking good:

Post brew, I am now off to have a reshuffle in the outhouse where the freezer is, shampoo the carpets before I move on to something else. Think I will rip the kitchen to shreds next, as I seem to be in a 'if it don't move quick enough, scrub it!' mood.............

No wonder you end up knackered when you are kept waiting for deliveries....... :snork:

Deliveries all arrived right on cue - actually really quite impressed with DPD tracker tool too; at the start of the day you get a text message and an email giving you a one hour time slot, and you can then click on a link in the email to track where the delivery is at the time:

            delivery.png

I watched him dot about for the ten minutes or so until it said he was doing the delivery just before mine, and within a couple of minutes the van was drawing up at the door.

Useful wee tool, and if this had been the only delivery of the day, I wouldn't have had to wait in for it unnecessarily.

Relaxing now with a nice pear cider while my new phone transfers everything from my old one (even that is remarkably easy nowadays!) :)

Well, I have to be fair - it was worth the wait. Our new phones are incredibly good. I'm still a wee boy at heart - love a gadget! :hapydancsmil:
