I think I knew what you meant Rosie. :) Sometimes mine does drop and I feel 'the need'.
Especially if no food available. Before I got my meds right, I would wake about 5 or 6am with hands shaking above my chest.

Sorry, that's my lack of ignorance about Diebetes ...

I was comparing prices of various of crunchy-lump breakfast cereals in the supermarket the other day. All the same brand, I was trying to decide what my price point was for the addition of either Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries ... or some other kind of Bloodyberry! I assumed that they were identical, but for the Berry type ... but then I started comparing the little breakdown of what it contained and, just like you, was horrified that one would kill be in an instant! and another I could eat and live forever. So I bought that one and ignored the price :D

I am sad that you are feeling that way about yourself - but never say never. I hope things will improve for you, life may seem very different in a couple of years' time.

Quick update for anyone interested. The low fat diet seems to be working :)
        Now down to 11st 11lbs :) I think I was 12st 5 when origin post went up.
Still getting the possible angina attacks, but they have eased slightly, although more frequent.
Blimey, just realised how much that is......8lbs in a week :)

That's a lot ... I'm no expert, but from what I have read losing weight quickly tends to be accompanied by putting it back on again. NHS site recommends folk lose 1lb - 2lb per week (for people grossly overweight it can be a lot more, but for people nearing target weight losing it slowly is preferable apparently).

Might I suggest that you Google maintaining target weight (not sure what the best keywords are to search for) so that you re-train body & mind to keep you at a healthy weight. I haven't got to that point yet, but I think with my diet regime it won't be too hard, and there are always Hobnobs if I get a bit on the low side

The first loss in any diet is water retention, if you keep eating healthy and consume the right amount of calories, it will even out to a steady loss.

              Well, the saga continues!
I went into the hospital for my fitness test on Thursday, car parked in the car park, fully expecting to go to work afterwards, and I ended up in the theatre! :ouch1:
They wouldn't even put me on their machine. The nurse was very experienced thankfully, and spoke with the doc. I was admitted, and straight in for an angiogram, which resulted in a stent being inserted due to a blocked lcx artery in my heart.
The nurse was more knowledgeable than the consultant last week!! I owe those who treated me so much.....a top team! They said if I hadn't told the doc about my throat, the result could have been serious. Also, well done to my gp for my initial referral.
I am home now. I told them I would self discharge because of my cat, but they seemed happier with it today because I seemed ok.
What a different end to the week :heehee:

Glad you got sorted, and are now home and on the mend. Your story is almost identical to a colleague of mine - he went for a treadmill test, and ended up in theatre within the hour; the good news is that he has been fighting fit ever since.

NG,Have you got anyone to look after you or is there just you and your cat?Usually if people end up having surgery then it is advisable that someone in the family or friends stay with the patient to make sure everything is ok and that they don't have any problems resulting in what they had done.I also hope you didn't drive yourself home afterwards?(Sorry not trying to be bossy but just a bit concerned that you might be having to cope with everything on your own)

Thanks guys and gals :) Omg I sound like Jimmy Saville!! :ouch1:
They made me stay in overnight because I am on my own. My neighbour went and got my car with his dad because I have a compulsory dvla 1 week ban now due to the stent. I will be ok thanks Kandy :blue thumb:
I had to phone car insurer, dvla, and private medical cover today. I get £250 for being in hospital overnight :blue thumb:

It wasn't the most pleasant experience, but bearable. They put a pressure cuff on your wrist and inflate it. It's on for hours (about 6 or more), and it kills . Better than bleeding out though :heehee:
