This sapling germinated from seeds taken from a tree in SW Turkey. It's about 3 months old & is growing well. I don't have a picture of the parent, but it was about 40ft high with drooping branches of delicate dark narrow green leaves - almost conifer like - growing on the coast. I have several other saplings of the the same nature, all doing well.

I don't know how hardy it is so will overwinter indoors. The shape & growth features are the same with all the saplings, and as far as my experience is concerned, does look somewhat unusual.

I've searched the net & every tree book I can find, all to no avail, so if anyone can help before I revisit Turkey next year, I'd be most grateful.

Welcome to GC greengauge. :) It's very difficult to identify any plant without a picture. You say you have saplings so is it possible to take a couple of pictures for us? One of the whole plant and a close up of the leaves please.

Good evening greengauge ( one of my favourite fruits)
it isn't possible to ID it without a picture and I think you have to have been posting a few more before you can do so. if it was growing in an area with winters as cold as ours then surely it wouldn't need to be indoors over Winter? Still, if you have a few saplings to play with you could do both,

A description of the seed, plus capsule might help, but I must agree a pic of the seedlings would be ideal.
