They don't have a vast range of goods on sale but it's worth going in there before going on to your usual shop. Fruit and veg are pretty good and a lot cheaper. They don't seem to keep as long (probably no preserving chemicals on them) but fruit and veg are used very quickly in our house.

Someone told me they love their baked beans at 29p for 400g

Tonight's Aitch bone of beef from a steer that lived in Heathfield, about 15 miles away. I chose the end of the rolled flank next to where the rump steak ends. The meat is dark - almost maroon in colour and should be good. It deserves a goodly Yorkshire Pudding to escort it to the dining table ,

                Awwww, Jenny that isn't fair!

I haven't had anything - yet (not even lunch). I could eat a scabby horse now! Been attending to painting implements all day, so think a takeaway is in order now.

Not very hungry, fancy a couple of toasted crumpets with butter and Bovril , or maybe some Nutella if I do not use the butter. :rolleyespink:
Then it's hit and miss for anything else. I have some liquorice, or some sweet banana's(not the fresh kind) .
I just am in one of those funny moods tonight. :yikes:

Just waiting for our friends at the local Indian (so local, I can often smell their cooking from the back garden) to deliver [yes, I am lazy] Onion Bhajee, Chicken Xacutti and Garlic Naan with a wee drop rice for the side.

                      :yummy:

My heart is bleeding for them - profits down to £2.4 billion:dunno:

Have you tried olive oil mashed tatties? Use a good oil and it's superb!

Last night was homemade dukkah burgers (beef mince and dukkah) with cottage cheese (trust me, it's great with Middle Eastern food) and crinkly lettuce in a poppy seed roll.

Tonight was stuffed marrow, lentil and pearl barley butternut squash "risotto" and broad beans with crusty bread.
(Marrow - prick with a bamboo skewer and allow a bit of Lea & Perrins to soak in.
Filling - lambs mince, onion, any old tomatoes you may have topped up with pasatta (or tinned toms if no old toms and pasatta), tomato puree and plenty of dried mint. )

Yet again, our friends at the Indian restaurant around the corner did us proud - absolutely gorgeous.

Anyone that is nearby or liable to be in this area, I would highly recommend the Indian Ocean on Staines Road West - - best Indian we have found yet (and we've had a few different ones!)
