So: My Tax office is in Glasgow ... why would I sent my Tax Payment to there next January? I think I can legitimated wait to pay my tax until a new office is available in England.

Depending on the outcome of the vote, of course :)

That's something I've pondered about and concluded, that in the event of a Yes vote, there would need to be some sort of pre-independence split/ring fencing of all tax/VAT/etc. receipts so they could be allocated to 'rUK'/Scotland on a fair and reasonable basis for future expenditure.

The really big question however is, following very long and protracted negotiations (I don't imagine they will be easy), what if there's a referendum on EU membership before separation and the result is to leave the EU prior to Scottish independence?

P.S. I'm wondering what our bank's reaction is going to be when, in the event of a Yes and the end of our current fixed term for our deposit account we tell them we're moving all our savings to an 'English' bank.

            On a local forum earlier......

The Loch Ness Monster has said it will re-locate to Lake Windermere if Scotland votes YES to Independence. :heehee:

Its clever how the writing has been printed all wobbly to perfectly counter the ripples in the fabric. Lets hope nobody irons it, because then the writing will look all wonky.

They can call it whatever they like, but I presume it wouldn't be the pound sterling, if its still called that?

So the fact that they might want to keep "a" pound is neither here nor there, it wont be "the" pound.

As far as I'm concerned they can call it what they want. But if they go for independence it should not be tied to our pound. It will have to stand alone and be counted.

What is all this cufuffle from Salmon about leaked info about banks and other buisnesses intending to move out of Scotland should there be a yes vote win.

The word "leaked" suggests he wanted it kept quiet, is that right?
Or is he saying its just manufactured propaganda invented by the no brigade?

If its the former, he is on thin ice.

My understanding of this from what I heard on Radio4 earlier is that it was a gentlemans agreement not to use this as it's a contingency plan that is there IF needed (they will have a good two or three years to make this decision as the details of independence are firmed up)
