its an interesting question ... I think they are likely to look at you, and particularly if they know you, if you are "there or there abouts" to say "You're fine". Clearly "worrying about it" is not good for your health, so no point encouraging that if its only marginal.

My Father in Law has been on blood pressure reducing pills for ages. He has a testing machine at home ... he has been proper poorly recently, signs of dementia, a range of issues, been to see all sorts of specialists, had all sorts of tests, all of them negative.

He had a bad fall, was taken into hospital, they found that his blood pressure was almost fatally low. He'd stopped taking his blood pressure regularly, but his GP hadn't taken it for 6 months!!, and none of the other specialists did, it was only when he was in A&E that they did. It took weeks for his blood pressure to get back to any respectable level at all (doctors all said to reduce his dose, whereas what he actually did was to stop taking all the pills completely, whilst [resuming!] self-monitoring of his own blood pressure 3x a day). Clearly "cutting down" was not the right advice either.

So ... my view is that they are not infallible, and where it is easy to do some self-monitoring then I think that is worthwhile. lots of Gadgets and Toys available to assist with that, and I think it becomes more important as we get older.

      Blimey K, hope he's OK.

I'm toying with a ultrasound scanner for a smartphone at the moment to keep Mrs L sane.

It's the second BMF session tonight. I'm more or less back to not aching after last tuesday so good to go.

Screw that. Do you get some ex marine telling how you're a piece of dirt and are not good enough etc.

I'm happy with just poodling around on my bike thank you very much, keeps me fit and much cheaper than a car.

Small update folks. Still going to the sessions and it's paying off (slowly). Jeez you don't realise how the muscle density just disappears over the years! Long way to go and still ironing out the kinks shall we say...
