Woohoo!! New year, new moans

Mine? Black (ninja) slugs!

 

Everyone is still moaning in the old thread!!!
OK my moan for the day is those bar codes which they stick on pieces of wood. I bought I piece of narrow beading today, took me ages to peel off the wretched bar code and even then there was a sticky residue left behind.

 

We are not happy bunnies today.Mr Kandy recieved a letter today from our Insurance Company informing him that because the Insurance Company of the woman who smashed into my car last September refuses to hand over the money to my insurance company as it was a no fault claim on our part (we were in Waitrose shopping at the time of the accident) our insurance company are putting up both mine and Mr Kandys insurance premiums by around £50 each as both car insurances are in his name because it worked out cheaper so we are now going to be out of pocket for £100 for something that was someone else fault.

Also if our Insureres have to take her Insurance Company to court to retrieve the money then it will mean Mr Kandy will have to go to court to tell his side of the story even though the woman's insurance company has admitted liability for the accident.

Mr Kandy has spent an hour today on the phone to our insurance people trying to get it sorted out and they have told him he will get the money back eventually when it is settled.I said to Mr Kandy is that with interest and he said highly unlikely.

We already have enough stress in our lives what with Mr Kandys elderly father being in hospital without having to go through more stress over an accident that happened nearly six months ago.

Oh Goodness gracious Kandy, how blinking annoying for you & like you say you don't need this on top of Mr Kandys father being in hospital.
I had a lorry driver drive into the side of my car a few years ago, he was totally to blame but he would not have it, we had an almighty barney on the side of the road & I ended up phoning the police! Anyway to cut a very long story short I had to go to court & stand in the box so I could be crossed examined! I was obviously telling the truth & won the case rightly so but like you I had all the drama of paying this & that & the stress was awful, it's really not a fair system when clearly you aren't to blame. I totally understand & sympathise with your awful situation. All I can say is hang on in there try to keep calm (easier said than done I know) & I very much hope it soon gets sorted out.

 

@Kandy That's life it seems, just when you could do with things going smoothly they go the other way. Hope things 'turn around' soon!!

 

Not a moan, just a niggle: dog poo!

Why do people assume that if their dog does it in a field (aka public footpath) it does not require being bagged and disposed of in a sensible manner?
Does dog poo stick to your boots *less* in a field than on a High Street? (No!)
Does dog poo "smell" less if it sticks to your boots in a field than in a HS? (NO!)
Is dog poo less "threatening"/harmful if it is in a field? (NO!!)
Are there laws/requirements which differ regarding dog poo in a field versus HS? (NO!!!!! They are the same: clean it up you lazy poo person, you!)

Rant over: poop scooped; boots disinfected; faeces disposed of appropriately *insert snob/nose in air smilie*

You couldn't have said that better 'm' this is certainly a topic which drives me crackers! It's totally irresponsible to leave dog poo a ANYWHERE! We've had several notices put up in the village about this & I've been know to stalk dog walkers just to make sure they clear up!

 

We have Dog poo, Human poo and cow poo and only one person pick up there dog poo were we live and there's 22 dogs around here
Dog poo is because not many can't be bothered to pick up
Human poo is becuse some people walking the footpaths can't be bother to pick up
Cow poo alot (not a problem from cow) that fall off tractors and muckspeaders/trailers on the roads and can't be bothered to pick up (if it falls off a vechical it brecks the law, insecure load)

 

One of those days when I should have stayed in bed!

Some of you are aware that the electricity authority here are preparing to put the overhead cables that run across my garden underground. The pole in my garden will eventually be removed and they are currently digging trenches on the other side of my garden fence for the pipework. Last Friday they were very careful with the digging knowing that in the same area the sewer main runs through my garden. Today, they had forgotten that the gas main also runs through my garden, even though I'd told them on Friday. A ring on the doorbell this morning.....
"Do you have gas?"
"Yes, I do have gas."
"We've just gone through the main with the digger. We've called the Gas Board and they're on their way."

The chap admitted they'd looked at the site plan and new it was there. Give me strength! Is nobody capable of doing a job properly these days!

Having had a new central heating boiler fitted a couple of weeks ago, I decided while it was shut down to bleed the rads as there has been some air rumbling around. I couldn't shift the bleed screws, they had been done up so tight by the boiler fitter that the fittings into the rads were turning instead. Somebody, hopefully, will be out to loosen them tomorrow.

The day went downhill from there on and I was beginning to think it was Friday, 13th!
