Anyone else watch this last night? I thought it was a superb program, the balance between the garden and the kitchen was just right. Ray and Kate were also a really good balance, RB is like an excitable puppy, but Kate managed to tone that down a bit. The food looked great, the garden/food production history was also great.

    What a superb programme.

I am definitely making that omelette at the weekend.

Yes it was an inspirational programme. Ray and Kate worked well together and both had palpable enthusiasm in what they were doing. It was informative in an entertaining way.

For those who missed it, it can be caught on bbc iplayer Monday 9 p.m BBC2 Kew On A Plate

[IMG] So what is it about Kate then to dislike? I find her very friendly and natural.

I don't like the way she comes across. I don't find her natural at all.

How odd. I am authentic/genuine and can easily tell when someone is phoney. Could it be that her enthusiasm and bubbly personality is too much for you? You suspect it can't be real?

I think she's got no sense of humour.....she takes it all too seriously. I wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of her either. Bill Oddie did and he got sacked! I like Bill! Tess Daily would never deep sea dive - she'd get all ravelled up in her ball gown.

I wondered why Bill had gone , the last time he was on they kept him in the background and he shouted "why I am here" !!!

He was interviewed and said that she had told bosses that she wouldn't work with him again but he was ill at the time and losing his job actually put him in hospital.

I knew he had a break down as I watched him on "this is your life" and he wasn't too happy when they brought it up, I must say I bet he was a directors nightmare on the live broadcasts ,

I recall the reason put out around that time, as to why he was sacked, alluded to his kind of smutty remarks that did not sit well with the nature of the programme. (Bill Oddie feels it may well have been his mood swings that led to him being sacked. It is regrettable that he his mental health seems to have furthered declined since then).

I liked Bill Oddie until I heard about his extra curricular marital activities.

Yes I can see her assertive side. I admire that quality in women. I doubt if she was the only who found his mood swings difficult.

(You may well know that Oddie had previously been diagnosed with clinical depression, a diagnosis that has since been amended to bipolar disorder, in which depressive episodes alternate with periods of manic activity).
