It's considered a weed, but a slightly pretty weed. :heehee:

I nickname it 'spider' because the branches spread out like a spider's legs.

Well, the definition of a weed is just a plant in the wrong place...so that gives a lot of scope and is subjective.

I adore what I call "nature's gifts" for the most part but then I am a naturalistic gardener.

Thanks but I prefer most of them growing i.e. alive rather than yanked up and slung at me! [IMG]

Some attitudes to certain "weeds" really baffle me....what is wrong with pretty white daisies elegantly speckled across a green lawn? Such intolerance to me simply depicts the ingrained conditioning of having to cultivate a uniform carpet of green grass (and of a certain length too). I know it's the norm but I find it unimaginative and stifling.

Here is a refreshing slant on this...

                      http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardenin...blems-can-I-introduce-daisies-to-my-lawn.html

Seriously though, I realise there are limitations involved which is why I said I like them "for the most part"....even I can discriminate but have a more lenient/live-and-let-live attitude towards these living plants than normal gardeners.

I agree about the grass. :blue thumb:

Most of our lawns are only 30% grass with the rest being daisies, buttercups, broadleafed 'weeds' and moss. The rest of the 'lawns' have even less grass but are covered in wild flowers, cowslips, primrose, primulas and orchids.

Flower beds have a lot of what are considered 'weeds' but these are only removed as and when the space is needed for something else.

For example, most of what is in this area are considered weeds by a lot of people.
