I was all done on the 1st Jan 2015
All I need to do is think about how I can have a Christmas dinner for one, without any wastage
It will have to be just roast chicken me thinks.

I must admit to having loved Christmas in the past. Things happen over time though, which make it harder to enjoy. I lost my sister in Dec some years back, and my beloved Blackpuss on New Years day this year .
The best adult Christmas times that I have had were at the ex wifes parents house in Wales. Always a big event with lots of family and fun. Losses in family, and a couple of divorces must make that very different for them now though .
So for me now, Christmas isn't much different to any other time :cry3:except for thinking of everything I have lost.

Edit: Adult Christmas sounds a bit wrong, but you know what I mean

Nah too much going on here in various ways so not bothering with all the palaver. We're trying to exchange and complete by Crimbo also. Don't think it's going to happen but we're not that bothered as we won't be moving in straight away as we're getting a bit of work done to the house anyway. I'm more excited about getting into my new garden than Xmas to be honest :hapydancsmil::hapydancsmil:

Like Jiffy, we haven't really celebrated Christmas, as such. For most of the last 15 years we've been out of the country at that time but we shall be at home this year.

We don't give presents, except to children and don't do Christmas cards (send the money we used to spend on them - a couple of hundred cards - to charity).

Christmas day, will be a quiet one and shall do gardening if the weather is OK. No special food - don't like turkey.

Boxing day, will be a few family round.

27th, out to sister (her birthday) with all her family there.

28th, a group of friends coming.

1st, out to a gathering at friends.

3rd, 20 friends round for hot buffet.

So, no preparation really need. I'm used to cooking for lots of people so I don't need to worry about anything.

We ordered our food back in october

                  The tree was finished yesterday

I had wrapped my presents by mid november. Cards were written before december and posted on wednesday.

I have nothing left to do apart from bake the cake on xmas eve

Good morning all Christmas is very special to the Woos, its a time for counting your blessings and thinking of all the friends and family that cannot be with us but are in our thoughts,,yes and not being organised and rushing about like a headless Owl is part of Christmas, all the baking and mayhem ,grandchildren running about,Christmas morning a visit to the senior citizens home and a sing song, helping the homeless with Christmas dinners and a visit to the hospice to check on some friends and to have a chat"Long Live Christmas";):blue thumb:

We start buying reduced stuff immediately after Xmas, putting other items away throughout the year, getting free Xmas cards/wrapping paper/gifts from O2 Priority in the run up to Xmas, saving bottles won on tombolas, buying more expensive items using doubled up ClubCard/Nectar points, and Amazon vouchers earned from surveys, etc.

Today I've been bottling homemade wine to give away with homemade jams, preserves, own pressed apple juice, etc.

My daughter's getting a new mobile phone bought with doubled up Clubcard Points (including those I got for nothing by buying Noodles!), plus a year's free EE service which only cost me £5 for a whole year after cashback/clubcard conversion/double up, plus a vast hamper of food/other stuff we've bought using 'overage' at Tesco - from where the value of vouchers/coupons exceeds the cost of products, so effectively free shopping.

She will give me reduced gardening stuff she's found in her local Wilkos where she's at uni. I buy bargain stuff for her to give to Mrs Scrungee.

Xmas doesn't need to be expensive.

P.S. And our daughter's really looking forward to being taken out bargain hunting on Xmas Eve!

We're about set here. I just have tobuy the wife something, which is the hardest bit because she doesn't ever tell me what she wants. So she'll probably end up with loads of chocolate that she'll end up sharing with me and the kids.

First rule of a Happy Christmas....... always keep the receipts
I may treat myself to a new TomTom in the sales :). I have to pay £47.50 every year for traffic info for it, so I may as well get a fully up to date one with lifetime maps and lifetime traffic.
