Rainbow Rose , Must have !

Good morning @HarryS yes and I have fairy's living at the bottom of my garden Oh and there goes another pink elephant flying past never the less I shall try and answer your question as best as I can my friend.

The pictures of the roses have not been messed with in any way. The rose has not been bred to produce the colourful petals, , but have been injected with natural pigments into their stems while they are growing to create the multi-coloured petals. This technique was introduced by Dutch flower company owner Peter van de Werken.

The dyes are produced by natural plant extracts that are absorbed by the roses as they grow. A special process will control how much color reaches the petals. The stalk is treated with natural pigments to make each petal a different color. The pigment is absorbed by the plant and will travel to the petals where it can change their hue.

The first attempt was to spray the flowers, however that did not work. Then dye was used, and with about six months of trial and error, they got it right. The beauty of the Rainbow rose can be categorized as neither real nor fake, as the injected dyes are natural, but the colours are manipulated by man. A bush or two placed in a garden along with the other types of roses we normally see in a rose garden would be a rose gardeners dream, but as for now will not happen. Along with the heirloom roses and red roses glowing with bright colors, a rainbow rose bush would be a perfect addition. Maybe at some point in the future, we will see bushes with injected dyes to assist the colourful splendour of the roses as they bloom but for now it's simply a vision of beauty to be seen in vases.
