Roses

Thanks Kevin and WOO (twit t-woo, sorry couldn't resist it ), a lot of very good information there. Yes, I'm growing it as a bush and it gave me a fantastic display of flowers last year and I'm hoping for the same again this year. As soon as the rain and the cold wind disappear, i shall get out...

That is a very specific way to look at it... the root stock could be any kind of rose although most likley something like rosa rugosa, suckers coming from a root stock are likley to be strong growths as that's why it was chosen as the root stock:WINK1:

...Update.....well after the incredibly mild winter we've had (so far!! :D), my little roses are still in full leaf and are starting to produce suckers around the base......., looks like they're going to make nice little multi-stemmed bush roses

Thanks wiseoldowl, very helpful!... I will investigate by the light of day when I get a chance. The flower on my potential sucker is bright yellow - identical to the flowers on the bush itself ... It's just that the shoot is 2ft away from the bush!

Good morning Archie,to err on the side of caution I always try to answer all our friends posts in text book styleBut My own personal answer would be if you need to move your standard Rose my friend then by all means move it now(I move Roses at all times during the year):WINK1:Hope this helps.
