It’s always been a bit of a taboo subject, but I remember my mum and dad trying to sort things out without talking about it.
I’m trying to make life easier now for the future and build in easier ways, info is a bit scares but I have watched YouTube which is the only way your going to see someone whose used one and how it felt.

When we were away on holiday (remember those days :rolleyespink:) last Christmas/New Year the hotel room had an electric loo that was also a bidet. Heated seat, different options for bidet washing (front or back) and a warm air drying option. I'm not sure I will be able to read the make on the loo (took photos) but shall have a look when I can access my photos (on another computer that is in use at the moment. :noidea:

Looks like you can just replace the toilet seat with a bidet version ?

Seems a very simple and neat alterative though no experience of them ..?

Update well finally bought one and installed it at the weekend, well a 4 day weekend really as we had a RCD socket installed in the study with a hole in the wall to bathroom.
Went for the whole unit as ours was tired, so it has seat controls and a remote and the price was good.
Overall it works fine slightly higher which helps getting up, just need the rest of the bathroom altering to suit our needs

When we had our bathroom and toilet redone many years ago I had the loos set higher than normal and it makes a big difference (bad knee). :blue thumb:

Being that bit higher can be of help, know our old mother always had difficulies getting up, but refused to have one those raised seat addons, though a hand rail did help.
Expect someone will invent a rise recliner toilet seat one day :)

What are your plans fo the rest of the bathroom?
Often though of replacing our bath for a walk in shower, but would miss having a good soak.... but do not have room for both and our shower over the bath always feels like you might slip with little to hang on to, getting a little too old for such acrobatics !

I must say that those over the bath showers can be unnerving and the thing to add is a good substantial floor mat and grab handle...When we had a bidet in our Spanish Home, one of our very young Grand daughters thought we had two toilets in the same room..:)
