We had an Echeveria plant that we rescued from B&Q some years ago. It was the size of a dinner plate. It has flowered several times but it has just got smaller and smaller. It produced offsets that we potted on but they just sit and don't get any bigger.
Any ideas as to what we are doing wrong?

I think the plants they sell have been 'forced' , I see many huge plants for sale and always think they don't look natural.
All my Echeverias are small and very slow growing. I've had them for years and that's how they always are. Most of them flower profusely but don't get very big.

              Have you got a picture?

I find most echeverias don't make massive single rosettes they clump up in a similar way to sempervivums.

My Queen of the Night has also just flowered. It was given to me as a single section from a mother plant. It is now around 3ft tall, several stems, and in the last 4 years, 18 year old plant, has flowered each year. Huge flowers, only last 1 night, sweetly scented. I sat up one night to watch the flowering, the flowers do not open until after dusk and collapse within a few hours so I haven't repeated the exercise.
A rather ugly plant for most of the year.
