I am growing Garlic in my little plastic greenhouse. When we had the strong winds a while ago, it blew over (yes, you can laugh) well the Lupins fell in with the garlic on the shelf below, not wanting to disturb anything I just patted them all nice and neat. Well Lupins and Garlic together now. Am I OK to leave this like this is or shall I repot them? Also does that Garlic look nearly ready (or not)
    Thankyou.

Ready for what Polly? You won`t be harvesting your garlic until, at least, next August. If you are growing it to maturity in the container, then I would prick the Lupins into separate pots.

Thankyou daitheplant I did not know about the harvesting time as I have never grown them before. I will remove them from the pot and put them in the ground in the spring (or when weather is better) I will re=pot the Lupins as well
    Thank you again [IMG]

Polly, garlic takes about 12 months from planting to harvesting. I am starting it in 3" pots and will plant out when the ground has warmed up a bit, probably early March.

Polly, I had one of those plastic greenhouses a few years ago which blew over when we had a very bad windy day - I spread put some pieces of paving slab we had left over on the bottom shelf and that did the trick - stopped it toppling over!

Alas the 'greenhouse' is no more (frosts eventually put paid to the plastic) - so I just use the frame/shelves for storage now - very useful standing by my shed door. [IMG]
