Hi everybody it`s the holiday season and I thought it would be nice to have a holiday pictures thread. Here are some of my pics taken last week in Los Gallardos nr Mojacar in the Almeria region of spain. Hope you like them.
Thanks dancing queen I have some pictures of the local insects etc which I will put together and post on the wildlife gallery tomorrow.
Beautiful, pip! Feel like I'm sitting in the garden! I've noticed all the Bunny Ears cactus is blooming here now ... aren't they lovely? And the massive size of them is quite mind boggling. I just love Lampranthus ... I've got the purple, red, orange and yellow now. Look forward to your wildlife pics.
Thanks all,I do love the striking colours of mediterranean plants. :D Rosa, the red tree you refered to is,I think,a very well established and old bouganvellia plant,it looks absolutely fantastic close up
Good idea with the holiday picture thread pip and you have made an excellent start with your great shots. Well done.
Found this old thread and thought I would show you a few photos from Ciovo, Croatia. It's just off the mainland, south of Split. My hostess has an apartment here and was able to show me to more natural, non- touristy places near her. Croatia has yet to be "discovered" by tourists but their numbers are rapidly increasing and Split airport has just had a significant expansion. Would recommend Croatia - still unspoiled, Jenny Jenny
Croatia has more than 1,100 islands. Ciovo is the one nearest the mainland and has nothing taller than 4 storeys high. Has no petrol station but plenty of super little beaches and restaurants. apologies for many duplicates - cannot seem to remove them
Good morning @Jenny namaste and thank you for sharing your lovely holiday photos with us,very much appreciated
THE LOST GARDEN OF HELIGAN I remember a garden makeover TV programme where the homeowners made a mud head. The professional gardener wasn't impressed. I like the idea. I might find room for one someday. An impressive array of dahlias. Are these geraniums? I've never seen red or yellow ones before. They looked great. BUCKFAST ABBEY G.
