Sometimes I seriously wonder where this country is heading.
Why have these two been allowed to plead Not Guilty, they made a big thing about why they did it, they are on lots of cameras covered in blood, boasting about what they did.
But we still spend money dragging them through the court and giving then their "rights".

On the news tonight it was almost as if the police were trying to justify shooting them, and then they explained how they gave first aid afterwards.
By this time Lee Rigby was beyond first aid.

Nutters like this should be dealt with on the spot, as they do when you get a mad dog attack, although I must admit, for this kind of scum perhaps that is too quick.

      Totally agree @pete
The sickening thing he said in his words after the attack

"No it's gonna be the average man like you, and your children. So get rid of them, tell them to bring our troops back so we can, so you can all live in peace.

He had the ******* to call them our troops!
I wouldn't give them the death penalty because that's what they want, to become a martyr
Just chuck them into the barracks where Lee Rigby was stationed!

As sickening as this case is, we have a legal system in Britain which is (apparently) the envy of the world. For all its faults, its about as fair as it can be. That means if you or I get accused of something, we have the chance to make our cases objectively, and the same goes for everyone.

I have no doubt at all in my mind what the outcome will be in this case, but if proper legal process breaks down for one case, then that would set a nasty precedent for other lesser cases where public opinion is rightly very strong.

It is right in my opinion that the coppers should have to justify pulling the trigger. They'll be ok, there seems to be no shortage of evidence, but at the end of the day they used firearms in public and if they are not asked to explain it this time, what about next time, when for example they shoot a man carrying a chair leg?

Sometimes it seems ridiculous that when a case is so clear, money and time still has to be spent on it, but you can't keep changes the rules for every unique case.

I think they pleaded "not guilty" so there sanity is in doubt, then they will be put in a cushy prison mental hospital.
All thought out and decided beforehand, premeditated.

Not a matter of changing the rules, simply the method in which implemented - swifter operations for cases where the evidence is absolute and clear cut.

I don't think the scumbags should have suffered but a shot to the head would have been a better solution to all concerned. Less pain for the Rigby family (if indeed that is possible), no air time for the perpetrators and no court time wasted. That said, I do like the idea of having them banged up in the barracks.

The 'system', such as it is, is a mystery to me. I don't find it fair and just at all.

After a quick chat in the staff room, we've decided to lock this thread for now, purely because it is an ongoing legal case and this is a public forum.
