Weeds germinating

    I've just been out to check on my winter onions, which incidentally seem to be starting to grow, and I noticed that loads of weeds are germinating too.

    Not unusual of course, except that its been bitterly cold here for the last few days. The remaining puddles in the area have been frozen for days, and have only just started to thaw today, yet there are new weed seedlings:scratch:

    Lots of stuff like Goosegrass & Cow Parsley start off in the winter, gives them a head start when spring comes, i've noticed a few seedlings already.

    The way I see it is ... if onions can sprout, so can weeds. Good job you spotted them though, so you can get rid :dbgrtmb:

    Some weeds produce seeds that germinate at various different times/conditions which is why they are more successful than 'plants'.
