I'm sure I read/heard something about residents in tourist areas in the UK complaining about visitors flying drones all over the place. Is it that widespread ? I understand how drones can prove helpful in the more remote areas - checking on wildlife and such like - but not for much else. Are they that cheap to buy and use ? Are they just a "must have pet" these days ? If so, will we soon be seeing adverts on the media for donations to Drone Rescue charities ?
NB Not including those used in warfare - they appear to be 10 a penny with a very short lifespan and already enjoy Assisted Dying

How's this for double standards by the National Trust. They removed it because they say it was tampered with. Not unreasonable you may think. The problem is, the original 'tampering' was to obscure the name of JK Rowling from a list of Virtuous Women. The tapestry remained on view. The second 'tampering' was somebody removing the change which had obscured JK Rowling.
No surprise really from the utterly biased NT these days. National Trust cover up tampered artwork in Derbyshire featuring JK Rowling

I missed the entire story, but just as an afterthought, can anybody, male or female, hold up their hands and claim to be virtuous?

@Tidemark the people named on the tapestry haven't put their own names on it. They are the opinions of others, rightly or wrongly. Presumably not necessarily in the archaic meaning.

Their smaller parakeet relatives have already set up home in places like London and Brussels where all the heated buildings offer enough warmth to get them thru a cold winter.

It's not just London that parakeets can be found. We have them in norwich and occassionally see them in our garden but they have made their way as far north as Scotland in the last decade.

There is a map here on this bbc news link.

Since this is a what thread, I was a little surprised this morning when i heard a horrible grinding noise only to be passed by a man on a bike that didn't have tyres or inner tubes, just bare metal rims. It was quite impressive how fast he was going and the amount of control he had tbh.
