It has a few interpretations but a common one is - the more things change, the more they stay the same. Politicians are swapped out but they don't really run things and the rich stay rich and promises, probably made in good faith, can't be honoured. People are kept in a perpetual state of hope and fear

Surely he is only hated a despised by some of the electorate, I cant understand where you are coming from, you are suggesting none of the population like him, so how did he get voted in. I've heard so much about the black and brown people, I thought the correct term was people of colour, not sure what colour I am, I've said before I'm not white and I consider being called white an insult.
