We heard that illegal immigrants abducted children from their country to make themselves look better crossing over then discarded them. so where those children are, Biden lost them. Sadly. Is all that true, who knows, just heard that few years back.
@redstar Sorry, my comment about 4 yrs worth was a bit TIC - the emoji choices defeat me at times As for not going further into the rest of my statement, I think you are quite right as we are not going to see eye to eye on many of these issues. Time to agree to disagree I think. Mind you, I wouldn't say No to importing some American rain if you have any going spare ? Tariff free if possible !! Have a nice summer and enjoy your garden
LOL. I guess in your countries if a women is driving her car and pulled over and found to be drunk, but has a child in her car, the child and her both go to the jail . Or are they separated? after all driving while drunk is an illegal action. (just an example) Entering the country illegally you are then considered a criminal, so if you bring your child with you then risk separation. When I worked as a social worker at a local hospital, we rotated on weekends in the delivery room. If a "drug addict " mother gave birth, the baby would be placed in child and welfare custody, not given to the mother. Oh, but I guess in your country you let a baby go home with a drug addict.
I wasn't expressing a view, @redstar. I was saying the media headlines cannot have it both ways - an outrage to deport a child with his/her mother, an outrage to separate a child from his/her deported mother.
Certainly Fox News has absolutely no credibility! Here in the UK, we seem to be perfectly capable of recognising our politicians’ flaws, and are prepared to criticise them, even if we voted for them, and support their party in principle. I’m sure that must be the case in the US too, at least among the reasonably intelligent and the educated population. I think, @redstar, as an obviously educated person, that you have had a bet with friends, that you could stir up the Brits on this forum, by posting undying support for Trump! I’m guessing that you had no idea you could pull the wool over our eyes for this long, and we would see through it weeks ago! I have to applaud you! You’ve done a great job, and we are obviously more gullible than we might like to admit! Hopefully you will excuse us if we continue to express our disbelief at the outrageous behaviour of the president, it’s certainly, shall I say, less predictable than much of the behaviour of our own politicians, and sadly it would be very funny, if it wasn’t so awful.
@Ergates even if @redstar is playing Devil's Advocate he is doing a valuable service. Many in the UK, just as in every other country, have extreme views and can see no fault in their leadership. I dare say some even think the the Labour Government is doing a good job at present.
Redstar to the best of my knowledge is a lady, her Avatar does say female and domestic goddess; just as yours states male. retired and clapped out. Personally I'm glad the Tories have gone ,after Boris and several short term prime ministers Starmer's not doing too badly. Better than Farage or whoever is running the Tories at the moment.
Many of you will say, Trump is not a good Politician. So here it is, he is NOT a Politician, we Americans did not want to vote for another Politician. He is a CEO. If any of you worked with a top notch CEO as I have their skill set is so different. He happened to run on a Republican party platform, but he was in the past a Democrat. In truth he really is not of one party, he is an American, his goal is to fix American's problems in the way that only a CEO knows how to do. He truly feels he works for us. One of the best things was the four year gap before he again took office. On his first day, he signed a huge number of new rules etc. He had all those piled up way prior to entering the office. He also has all his goals listed way prior to him taking office. Why the speed of his achievements, he knows he only has these 4 years to do it. And if his speed runs over someone's feelings, LOL, get a life. I rather have his goals and speed than the last four years of junk we had to deal with. And I do not want my money spent on stupid stuff, like tampons in the men's bathroom. Or transgender people in my army. Or allowing criminals to enter my country, several people would be alive today if they were not allowed.
Politicians have let us down, no doubt about it, @redstar, though I would say an issue with a CEO mindset is the profit motive. Most CEOs are out to please shareholders, not the general population, and want profit an any cost to the environment. It remains to be seen whether this is how Trump's presidency will pan out.
@redstar Unfortunately, most CEOs seem to be most interested in how much money they can put in their own pocket. That is generally at the expense of the general population.
Switch that to he wants the money put in Americans pockets. Just keep watching, it is happening . We are happy with the stock market, groceries are down, gas for cars down.
He thinks the Americans are the shareholders. right now groceries are down, gas for cars down, he just lowered taxes on certain things, just passed no taxes on things senior citizens have paid before. no taxes on tips for servers. He works for us, and that is how he looks at it. Interesting take to wrap your brain around is'nt it.
It certainly is interesting, @redstar. I really hope he is successful at both shaking up the political norms and improving things for regular citizens.
