    Hi,

I live in Telford, I have a Euchalyptus tree, probably about 10 years old. I thought last years winter had killed it, but noticed it now has shoots coming from the bottom.
Has it survived, if so what is the best way to promote growth?

Errm, i don't wish to be rude but the tree looks dead to me :o
I can see the new growth coming from the base but is there any coming from the main stems and branches ? ?
If there isn't cut it all down to the ground and let the roots concentrate on putting their energy into all that new growth.
(I'm staggered that it could have died because these are tough plants ! )

You'll have a multi stemmed tree now unless you keep removing all but one new stem - multi's look nice, can be kept at a low height to make a multi stemmed bush.
You could feed it with a general feed but when you remove the dead wood it'll make a real difference to it.

Thanks Louise, it looks dead to me too, I will trim some rubbish out of it to see how it is.
I know nothing about the subject, so all advice is much appreciated, as to it dying it shows how bad the winter was last year.

Further to my original post I have now chopped the tree down and want to remove it. I have been looking into how to do this, I am told there are products that will rot the stump as well as kill it. Can anybody recommend one please?

Nothing will rot the stump apart from good ol' natural decay. You may be able to kill the stump with a suitable stump killing product such as SBK Stump Killer, Roundup Stump Killer, Timbrel or similar, but it'll be down to nature's wood-decaying organisms as to how quickly and thoroughly it breaks down. You could just rip it out with brute force and ignorance!

Thanks, fortunately brute force and ignorance are my strongest points. Thanks for the reply.
