Sölvadalur, a valley in the north of Iceland.
This waterfall is spring water, this is why it is so white. It taste heavenly.
On the other hand the waterfall of glaciers are bigger and brown and...you definitely don't want to swim in them!

Hi PeterS, I have been there three times. Best time to go is July/August as the weather is more clement...
The main attraction, I would say, is the powerful nature.
You travel for hours between one village and the next (the road is only one), often surrounded by lava rocks covered by moss, rocks resting on top of water...You do feel as small as an insect !
And you hope that a storm is not going to catch you on the way!
There are many hot pools, natural and not - they have a sulphuric smell like the geysers- and they are lovely for a day long bath...
The hot water from the taps also smell like sulphur.
The good thing is that: hot water and heating are veeeery cheap.
Thats why Icelanders are used to leave lights on everywhere, and of course because they have long dark days.
Myself on the other hand, I love natural light and I use artificial only if I really have to.
Anyway, if you need some assistance with info and language, give us a shout!
