It turns out that DHL and I have slightly different vocabulary when it comes to gardening matters. I had my small box of plants delivered on a day I was physically in the office.

Very nice, thank you! However, I don't happen to have a compost

Ah, OK, I get it

I usually get a message from DHL as to where I would like my delivery left.

I was watching the neighbours parcel being delivered, guy turns up throw's parcel down by gate post, takes picture then picked it up a throw it over the 6 foot gate straight into some cow poo, it sat there for a day then neighbour came looking for it, he didn't look happy :noidea:

I've had a few parcels delivered by DHL and I get a text message on the day of delivery asking if I want it left in a safe place.
I usually just say my porch, and that is what they have always done up till now anyway.
I usually pay by pay pal and I think they might pass your phone number onto the carrier when ordering.
I even find Evri to be pretty good and do the same, they all text you the time slot it will be delivered as well.

Only one I have had problems with is Yodel they never have delivered anything properly to me.

It depends very much who your local drivers are. Our current Evri chap is lovely and we haven’t had any problems. The others seem to be different people every time but we haven’t had any problems for sometime. When we first moved in Yodel were dreadful, parcels would be out for delivery and then going back to depot because they couldn’t find us or been delivered to the wrong address. Now satnavs have us pinpointed better and Yodel must have updated theirs as well.

I did have one parcel left in the paper pod of our recycling bin recently, no message to say it was there. I was thinking that we could have easily lost that one but then the bin men are on strike so it’s probably quite a safe place for some time to come
