Does anyone grow these charming plants mine are just starting to push through now. Just away to have some lunch and an afternoon out at a garden centre. Tell you all about tomorrow also out for a birthday meal.
I have Pulsatilla rubra, lovely plants. Fine foliage, flowers and wonderful seed heads. Is it your birthday? - if so Many Happy Returns. Garden centre and lunch, great way to spend the day. :D

We grow about 10 different species including P. vulgaris in purple, red and what is sold as white, but is acutally very pale pink. We also have blue(ish) and yellow. P. vulgaris is a dratted seed weed in this garden, though for the first time in 10 years I could not find any babies to pot up. If you want to grow more from seed then it needs to be sown fresh from the plant, as it is another of those shirt lived ones. I usually pinch off the tails as I sow them. There is sometimes a problem with the tail rotting and killing the seed. Mature plants will not move, for some reason root damage to a grown plant always results in death.
