        Good morning didn't stay to long at the Remembrance Service this morning as it was bitterly cold and there were only two old mates left,5 years ago there were 27 of us,and anyway I remember them all every day.

                          @redstar if you are not already aware of the fact, he would probably have fallen doing house to house fighting in Cherbourg.

                          @CanadianLori there is lots of info regarding RAF/RCAF crew online. Most of it is fascinating, and serves to help us remember the sacrifice of all military personell.

                            Then he might have visited this place, lori. No.617 Squadron [the Dam Busters] made it famous but there were other Bomber Squadrons on the same airfield and others on nearby airfields.

                                We went to an excellent service and at the end they asked any people that were in the war to stand up. There were, surprisingly, quite a lot. We all clapped them and thanked them.
