I was very proud when Daughter Willow laid a cross at the local war memorial on sunday. The secretary of the British Legion thanked Willow personally in his speach.

Whilst I was glowing with pride & was so humbled to shake the hands of the fine young men and veterans sporting so many medals, Willow was a bit scared of the whole procedure.

It was a fantastic turn out though. More of the village turned out for this one than for the past few years.

Just wished i'd thought to ask Chopper along. Only fitting as he is one of our great unsung heroes.

Sorry Mate, too much going on in my head to get it together, will try harder next year.

    No worries Ziggy.

As I always do, I had my own quiet time to remember. I am the only one left of my original unit. It is a bit too much for me to go to and not find any of my mates.

    Chopper.

Well done Ziggy and nice to hear about youngsters joining in.

I watched the Albert Hall Royal British Legion service from Sat night on iPlayer. You've got to respect all those old boys (and girls) from the Chelsea Pensioners - shame theres none left from WWI now.
