We have 2 huge sycamore at the front of the house which spread their seeds everywhere:mad: Most of the seedlings can be mown down or pulled up before they get established but some have slipped through the net. How do I get rid of the saplings when I find them well established? If I cut them off they just sprout more shoots.

Fmay, if you can`t pull them out, then you have to dig them out.

As above, if you wait till after a period of heavy rain, even quite big ones up to around 2' tall will pull up with relative ease.

Drill a hole near the base and fill it with sodium chlorate... or cut a ring of bark off near the base. Plenty of ways to kill 'em off! I had a load of them growing up through my leylandi hedge when I moved house but they're all either removed or deceased now:)
