Personally I think we are all different in varying degrees.
When you find someone who is normal let me know, I know I'm not.

I remember, a few years ago, that a man bought a coffee and placed it between his legs on his car seat as he was driving home. He got compensation because the court ruled that the coffee was too hot :rolleyespink:

I assume these drinks have to be so hot to deter all the bacteria in their machines. Personally, I would have to be abandoned in the Sahara with no water supply before I would consider consuming a beverage from McDs. ;)

Hot chocolate is particularly nasty if spilt on a person as it contains a lot of sugar and are thicker than tea and coffee.
There have been numerous cases over the years of people spilling take away hot drinks on themselves. Some have required plastic surgery.
Never put the hot drink container between your legs you really don't want a burn down there let alone plastic surgery.

No, otherwise all soft drinks would be served scalding hot, including beer from a pump. The machines are stripped down every day and the tubing flushed and sterilised with Milton or similar, the same goes for cold drink dispensers. Pub beer pumps and associated tubing get similar treatment, this why sometimes you get a bad pint straight after opening.

That was probably the case which led to takeaway hot drink cups and lids having "This drink may be hot" printed on them.

Poor child! The parent should have more sense. It's not the fault of the seller. Are they supposed to make customers wait until the drinks have cooled to lukewarm before handing them over?

I don't know about coffee or chocolate, but tea has to be made with boiling water or it tastes vile.
Tea from these takeaway places is often made with water from a dispensing machine not a proper kettle or boiler and it doesn't really work. I once worked in an office that had one of those and while you could adjust the temperature, it wouldn't go above about 95C so no good at all for a proper cuppa, but still hot enough to do some damage if you spill it on yourself. I would certainly complain if I bought tea and it wasn't properly hot (I take mine black but if I want to drink it in a hurry I add a splash of cold water after it's finished brewing).

that came out so many years ago, that we all have "abnormal" whatever. But I say, who is the judge of that, LOL. Everyone is unique, and that person will never happen again.

here is something funny. I love a certain powder blush color. Online at the company that makes it they continue to be out of stock. For some reason I checked Amazon, and there it was, same price also. Ordered it, got it in 24 hours. Shipping cost is free to me as I had a few things hanging in the cart waiting.

BTW, I found out more about Amazon. Have you ever wondered how they can get so many things, possible warehouse everywhere in the world? Found out they partner with already established stores. So Amazon has a list of items from all stores they partner with, and just go to that store and get the item. Was shopping at a grocery store, heard over the loud speaker,
" WILL the representative from Amazon please come to the front desk" Then later I asked someone, sure enough. So that is how they do it.

So here is crazy me, Amazon has a tracking map, you can watch the little truck on line move about the streets on the way to your house. Neat. its good at night so i can turn on the lights for the truck. But I do have a life, LOL.

People complaining when they buy and then spil a hot drink over themselves or a child ?? I wonder who they blame and demand compensation from when it happens in the home ? It's an accident and life is full of them - accept it and stop laying the blame on everyone other than yourself :wallbanging:

Many years ago I worked in a posh cafe and they explained to me that black tea should be made at just under 98C and green tea quite a bit lower (can't remember exactly) and coffee should be made at no higher than 96C. As far as I'm concerned there is very little difference in those temperatures :noidea:

Speaking of spilling a drink. So last year, for my birthday we went to a new restaurant. I ordered my normal martini. sipped some of it. Then while talking with husband and or focusing on the new surroundings the whole thing must have slowly moved to the side and fell on the floor, total surprise the crashing noise. You'd think they offer me a new one free of charge, but nope. I blamed it on a ghost, or the table lopsided a smidge.

I always thought it was boiling water for tea, but off the boil for coffee.

Some green teas and other special teas need about 70°C to get the best flavour, others around 80 or 90°. It's one reason that you can get kettles with temperature control.
Some coffees are even cold brewed; left in cold water for 12 hours or overnight. Anyone for a quick coffee.

I just use a coffee maker every morning, it does through up some steam as its being made and makes bubbling noises.
