I remember that my maths teacher congratulated me on devising a method of calculating square roots . He then completely deflated me by saying that unfortunately Newton Approximation Theory beat me to it by 300 years! I did get a commendation on my end of year report for having worked it out.
I remember milking cows and when the boss got the results + pay for the milk i allway got a moan from him as the milk was allway cleaner than when he did it (i had low number on the scans) he didn't like it and he would allway find something else to moan about, so in the end i put up two fingers and left I can relate to some numbers
Not fair, you must have been a mere babe in arms when Newton was already full steam at work. Glad you got the commendation in the end.
Yes, I stopped bothering to try all my other ideas because he kept getting there first. Although I did give him a hint about a binomial theorem (a+b)n=k=0∑n(kn)an−kbk
So ... all this Andrew stuff. There is a teeny part of me starting to think there may be an agenda being manipulated here. The young females paid to have sex with guests and friends by Epstein must have, between them, racked up hundreds, if not thousands, of such encounters and yet only one is in the headlines. No one else has come forward saying they had sex with Andrew in similar circumstances, so it's probably fair to assume this was a one-off. So, looking past the "OMG, powerful rich men having sex with young females" angle (which has been happening since the beginning of time, though that is not to condone it), who benefits from the total destruction of one of Epstein's many, many "friends and acquaintances"? And why now?
Oh, and while I'm here, say you decide to break into an art gallery. You bring along a giant cherry-picker type piece of machinery, shift it into position in broad daylight, break windows and climb in, smash your way into display units, grab stuff and make your escape, all taking 7 minutes whilst the gallery is open. Were security on their tea break?
I don't think we can be wholly sure she did kill herself. There's a whole bunch of people who would have wanted her silenced. It may have been managed with Epstein under much more challenging circumstances. Meanwhile, the Louvre has closed for the day. Horses and stable doors spring to mind.
Deep depression about being a victim, shame at being exploited, people not believing her? There are others who have come forward to testify about Trump's involvement with Epstein and under age girls, including 2 13 year olds and surely countless others who were used and abused to entertain rich and powerful men. Why do you think Epstein was killed in prison except to shut him up? As for Andrew - he's high profile, being brother to the king but also doesn't have the funds to buy himself out of this scandal or cover up further allegations. Loads of other millionaires and billionaires do have the money and a less public persona. This is a quote from an article published early in 2024 about who featured in the Epstein files: Many of the most prominent individuals, including U.S. politicians, British royalty, tech tycoons and bankers, were already known to have links to Epstein because of previous court cases or disclosures in the media.
The Andrew/Trump/Epstein thing is unlikely to come to an end unless all documents are revealed and some independant (??) is employed to deal with it. As far as Andrew is concerned, I don't understand why he was willing to pay off his accuser if he never met her ( as previously claimed ? ) let alone the sex scenario. An obvious case of blackmail if that was the case and one he should have reported immediately. Not the only devious stuff he is said to have been involved with tho. What a shame Epstein never produced an autobigraphy - quite enlightening I'd have thought.
@Philippa Given all the files he's said to have on his "customers", I suspect he had one in mind but ended up in prison and killed before he could profit form it altho I suspect the scope for blackmailing some of those very rich people would have been lucrative enough. As for Andrew, he seems to think being royal gave him special license to do as he pleased and hang the needs/feelings/rights and sensibilities of those who "served" him.
She'd also had a serious accident leaving her with health issues, and had just come out of an abusive relationship. She had a lot to be depressed about.
I think the original typists were called typewriters, until that term was reserved for the machines? I like the idea of bathtubfuls being used as a measure of volume. At least I can relate to it, unlike the number of times I’ve seen things described in terms of the size of so many football pitches. Never having actually seen one, I have no idea how big they are. I can cope with the comparisons with double decker buses though.
I don't think Epstein would ever have written an autobiography. Having a hold over so many very rich individuals was likely to yield much more, financially and in terms of status within his circle. Maxwell, too, has kept tight-lipped, preferring to serve a sentence rather than risk retribution from those with the money to carry it out.
